I’ve spent over 25 years in HR, working with leaders across different sectors and sizes of organisation from large, multi-site retail to small charities and lots in between!

I’m a commercial and pragmatic HR generalist with a specialism in employee engagement. My approach is built on three things: clarity, credibility, and care.

It’s important to me to work in an organisation that is purpose driven, which leads into how the team are recruited, managed, led, and developed.

Good HR should make life easier for managers and better for employees. That’s what drives me. I'm not a fan of bureaucracy or "HR says no". I deliver straightforward, people-focused solutions that support your business goals.

I’m known for being calm under pressure, commercially minded, and able to drop into complex situations quickly. Whether it’s supporting cultural change, leading consultations, or managing ER cases, I help organisations move forward with competent managers, strong teams, and engaged employees.

My favourite projects are where an organisation knows that they have a need to improve their employee engagement but aren’t really sure they know how to go about doing that. Often the individuals involved do have the knowledge and skills to achieve these goals and my role is to draw that out and facilitate the work moving forwards through building confidence and empowering the team to take the actions needed.

Alongside my consulting and interim work, I’m co-Strategy Director, and on the Advisory Board, of Engage for Success (now part of the CIPD), the national movement spreading the word about employee engagement and shining a light on good practise.
